More than just birdwatching

This art exhibition is a creative tribute to wild beauty, shared passions and the people who inspire me.

More than just birdwatching – Swallow Birding In Colour is a vibrant, creative tribute to wild beauty, shared passions and the people who have inspired me on this journey.

If someone had told me ten years ago that I’d be spending my time on birdwatching and nature walks – and even going on birdwatching holidays – I’d have laughed my head off.  Yet here I am today, sharing this exhibition of paintings inspired by the places, people and wildlife encountered on birdwatching holidays and day trips with Swallow Birding.

I began my nature journey at the tender age of 50!  Exploring local walks, I started to notice unusual (to me) birds which sparked my curiosity.  Eventually this led to discovering the expertise and generosity of Steve and Annette from Swallow Birding.  Their small, friendly tours and day trips opened up a whole new way of seeing the world – not just the birds, but also butterflies, wildflowers, insects and the people who care deeply about protecting them.  This exhibition celebrates the joy of learning, the power of shared knowledge and the creative spark that nature (and those who love it) can ignite in us all.  Come along and see if it lights you up too.

As well as original paintings for sale, there will be prints and greeting cards.

Thank you, I'll be in touch soon!

I find endless inspiration in the vibrant colours and stunning beauty of nature. From the birds and wildflowers I see on my walks to breathtaking landscapes and glowing sunrises, my surroundings fuel my creativity. While I don’t often paint landscapes realistically, I love capturing the details of the world around me – the delicate curve of a petal, the texture of bark, or the fleeting glimpse of a bird mid-flight. Working mostly with watercolour and ink, enjoying the freedom and detail that drawing with ink offers.
