Spring & Summer 2025: Where You Can Find Me

What’s Happening in My Art World

Spring has definitely sprung and my art calendar is blooming too! Here’s a peek at what I’ve got coming up in the next few months – exhibitions, festivals and even a brand-new creative direction…

This Weekend
I’ve just dropped off some paintings at the Langford & Ulting Art Show, which runs 10am–4pm on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th next weekend. It’s always a lovely local show full of creativity and talent – do pop in if you’re nearby!

🎨 Burnham Art Trail – 21 to 29 June
I’m delighted to reveal that my venue for this year’s Burnham Art Trail will be the Burnham-on-Crouch Museum, where I’ll be showing alongside the Artists’ Wall, three other talented artists and a local school.

🎭 Maldon Festival of Culture – 21 June to 12 July
Three weeks celebrating local music, theatre and visual arts! I’ll be joining other artists creating live work around the town. Plus, Maldon Art Club is organising a ‘Big Draw‘ at Promenade Park and St Giles Hospital – perfect for a fun family day out.

July at the Gnome Café, Maldon High Street
I’m hoping to exhibit with two wonderful artists in this charming vegan café. More details soon – but it promises to be a relaxed, friendly space to browse and enjoy local art.

Heybridge Basin Regatta – 12 & 13 July
Find me at the Basin Waterside Market at the Jolly Sailor amongst lots of other very talented art and craftspeople. A lovely weekend full of traditional maritime charm, and I’ll be there with original work and cards. A great day out for the whole family.

🚢 St Mary’s Church Exhibition – 12 to 17 August
As part of Steam Tug Brent Heritage Week, I’ll be exhibiting in The Octagon – it’s a wonderful historic space and perfect for celebrating Maldon’s working river heritage.

🕊️ NEW SOLO EXHIBITION: 21 August to 9 September
This will be a very special one for me. Over the past few years, Swallowbirding has taken me on many wonderful birdwatching tours. My upcoming exhibition at the Maeldune Heritage Centre is a celebration of those days – the birds I’ve seen, the places I’ve been, the wonderful people I’ve met and the joy of watching the world take flight.
🗓️ Preview Evening: Friday 22 August – Come along for a drink and a nibble, and meet the team from Swallowbirding too!

I don’t have a name for the exhibition yet, so I’m going to run a competition to choose one – are you in?

🎉 Maldon Art Trail Returns – 12 to 14 September!
I’m thrilled that the Art Trail is back! I’m seriously considering an Open Studio this year – a chance for you to come and see where the magic happens. Would you be up for that?

🍻 Ferryboat Inn, North Fambridge – Late Summer
Some of my paintings will be on display at this lovely riverside pub, shared with other artists in rotating 3-month exhibitions. A great excuse for a trip out.

🏥 On the Walls: Longfield Medical Centre, Maldon
If you’re passing through, look out for “Promenade Charm” and “Morning Melody” – two of my watercolours are now up on display.

🎨 New Work in Progress
Behind the scenes, I’m quietly working on a very different series – one that explores my Irish heritage and deep connections to place and story. I’ll be revealing more later this year, but it’s a project very close to my heart.
